What is Coagulopathy?

Coagulopathy can also be called a bleeding disorder. It is a disorder in which the blood’s ability to coagulate is stopped. This disorder can induce a predisposition toward prolonged or profuse bleeding, which can occur on its own, after an injury, or during medical or dental operations. It can also cause spontaneous bleeding. There is a common misconception that coagulopathies are the same as “clotting disorders.” However, a clotting disease is actually the opposite of a coagulopathy and is described as a predisposition to excessive clot formation.

AUB-C is a medical condition with irregular and heavy uterine bleeding. Women with AUB-C may experience prolonged and heavy menstrual bleeding and an increased risk of hemorrhage during surgeries.
