What is an Endometrial Polyp?

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding is a prominent condition in women between 40 and 50. However, not many women are knowledgeable about this condition. The question is: What is AUB-P?

Endometrial Polyp is a growth in the uterus’s inner lining, commonly known as the endometrium. Endometrial polyp can also be called uterine polyp, and this condition arises when the overgrown tissue attaches to the endometrium by a stalk or broad base into the uterine structure.

Also, Endometrial polyps can develop in people of any age. However, they are most frequently seen in women approaching menopause. There are also cases whereby Endometrial Polyps can be confused with other noncancerous growth, such as;

  • Uterine Fibroids
  • Adenomyosis
  • Ovarian Cysts
  • Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
