What is Adenomyosis?

This is a disorder that occurs when tissue from the endometrium begins to develop into the muscle wall of the myometrium, which is often referred to as the uterus. It causes your uterus to get thicker and larger. In addition, it may cause menstrual cramping, heavy or extended menstrual bleeding that clots, and abdominal pain.

People over the age of 40 or those who have undergone uterine surgery are more likely to develop adenomyosis. According to studies, adenomyosis can affect 2–5% of women who experience painful periods.
