Welcome to the sixth article in our journey so far. Ovulatory dysfunction seems like a scary word, right? So, what’s ovulatory dysfunction? Let’s get into it.
What is Ovulatory Dysfunction?
Ovulatory dysfunction is a health condition in which a woman of pregnancy age cannot ovulate or become pregnant. It often leads to different cases, mostly abnormal uterine bleeding. This type of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) accounts for about 30% of cases. AUB-O occurs when there is a disruption in the normal hormonal cycle that controls ovulation. This can lead to irregular bleeding, heavy bleeding, or prolonged bleeding.
The major symptom of ovulatory dysfunction is a history of irregular menstrual cycles.
On the other hand, women who have ovulatory dysfunction typically have very irregular menstrual cycles that can last anywhere from 30 to 90 or more days. These women also experience very little menstrual cramping and do not experience any discomfort during the middle of their cycles.
That is everything you need to know about AUB-O. See you in the next article.
